This year, for the first time, i took on the challenge to be a squad leader in the ALERT Cadet Challenge. There were two units, three squads in each and about 10-12 guys in each squad..I had 12 people in my group, ranged from 7-14 years..was never easy especially with the small kids (now i know why my parents had a hard time raising me up) there was xavi, caleb 1+2,thaddeaus,tim,justin,ashok,david,Joshua,Daniel,radhitt,rainanda..=( well we won 2 out of 8 challenges..and only got last on 1 of it..but the character awards was the toughest as Hanniel's squad grabbed most of it, which was very dissapointing=.= went on for 3 days in the Ayer Keroh Park in Melaka..was hot and sweaty and stucked there from 9-5pm..but its was all worth while getting to know more people better and earning a badge for it as well..there was disappointment..we had this project of having to make a boat and slinger out of things like Styrofoam cups, straws, spoons, rubber bands and lots of duct tape and a few other things. The record in the US was 800 1-cent coins. my group, we called it "the miracle boat as it was just the styrofoam cup and it held about 160 coins.the girls came later and were able to make one that held 270+..=.= and to make it worst, they also beat us with the slingers.theirs went like 12 feet. the guys furthest went abt 8..but the record in US was 10 metres..phewf..but it was really tough having to think out with two different groups at once but my group won the slinger within the squad..went about 2 ft or so..was proud of them especially the smaller ones who tried real hard..one of the hardest challenges was also making the spaghetti tower..all we had was just clay and real expensive spaghetti..haha..ill try to put in some pcs of the things we made or had soon cuz the photo guy hasn't finish editing the CD yet..
